Civics Education: Confianza and iCivics/CivX Now Coalition

Confianza is a proud collaborator with iCivics, a non-profit organization that exists to engage students in meaningful civics learning through inventive and free resources that enhance teachers’ practice and inspire their classrooms.  Confianza Director Sarah Ottow was asked to be part of the iCivics EL Advisory Group in Washington DC in Spring 2017.

Confianza recognizes that our US democracy is at a crossroads and that youth are often disconnected from civic life. Towards the efforts of a renewed commitment to graduate prepared and engaged citizens, Confianza has joined the CivX Now Coalition, a group out of iCivics that is focused on improved civics learning and related accountability mandates through a public awareness campaign to garnish support for civics as a solution for challenges we face as a democracy.
